Parking express T1

The Express T1 car park is the official Aena lot on the Departures roadway of Terminal 1 at Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport, a few metres from the terminal building. It is the designated place to stop a private car right by the entrance, meant for dropping off or picking up passengers within a few minutes.

Mind the small print: once you pass minute 10, you pay for the whole stay from the start. Leaving at minute 11 costs about €1.82, and a full first hour comes to roughly €8.30. Past the 2-hour maximum stay, the daily maximum applies and the car may be towed.

How to reach the Express T1 and pick someone up

Follow the “T1 – Salidas / Departures” signs up to the Terminal 1 departures roadway and enter through the barrier lane signposted “P Exprés”, just before the terminal doors. Remember the 3.5-metre height limit if you drive a van or camper.

For pick-ups, the practical move is to meet your passenger at the Departures-level doors, since that is where the lot sits: drive in only once they confirm they have their luggage, take the ticket and watch the clock. If the wait stretches past about 30 minutes, the per-minute rate stops making sense and a car park without a stay limit is the better choice.

Arriving at Terminal 2 instead?

T2 has its own Express T2 car park on the arrivals/departures roadway serving areas A, B and C, with the same conditions: 10 free minutes, 2-hour maximum stay and a 3.5-metre height limit. Go straight to the express lot of the right terminal.

FAQ

How many free minutes exactly?

10 minutes, per both aena.es and the official panel at the entrance: after minute 10 you pay for the whole stay from the start at the current rate. Some sites still quote 15 minutes; that window is no longer in force.

What happens if I stay over 2 hours?

You pay the daily maximum (€61) and the car may be towed — in that case you pay the €60.50 tow fee plus the full stay. For long waits, use a car park without a 2-hour cap.

Do I need to stop at the pay machine on the way out?

Only if you owe something: the official panel says that for stays under 10 minutes you should head to the exit without passing the pay machine. Past 10 minutes, pay for the stay at the current rate before you leave.
